Come expecting. Leave transformed.

First Tuesday is not a lecture and it is not a performance. It is a room of ordinary people working through Scripture together — asking the questions you are not supposed to ask in church, and finding that the Bible holds up under them. We start on time and finish on time. You can sit at the back and say nothing at all. You can bring a friend, a doubt, or both. Whether you have read the Bible for thirty years or have never opened one, you will not be singled out and you will not be sold anything. There is a place for you here.

Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.

— Psalm 119:105 (NIV)

Before you come

The things people ask us first.

I've never been to a Bible study. Will I be out of my depth? +

No. Most people in the room are not Bible scholars, and nobody is put on the spot. We read a passage together, talk about what it says, and go home. If you have never opened a Bible, you will be fine — and you will not be the only one.

Where exactly in the library? +

The Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library at 350 Pageant Lane, Suite 501, Clarksville, TN 37040. Come in the main entrance and follow the signs — we will have someone at the door to point you the right way.

What does it cost? +

Nothing. There is no charge, no collection, and no pressure to give anything.

What should I wear? +

Whatever you had on that day. Come straight from work if that is easiest.

How long does it run? +

We start at 6:30 PM and finish by 7:45 PM. We keep to that — it is a weeknight, the library closes at 8:00, and people have to get up in the morning.

Can I bring someone? +

Please do. Bring a friend, a spouse, a neighbour. Just add their name when you save your seat so we set out enough chairs.

Do I have to join anything? +

No. Come once, come every month, or come when it suits you. Nobody will chase you.
